Up for sale is a previously owned Martha Carey’s The Herd elephant sculpture that I got as part of a huge collection, that I was able to rescue from a shotty, second rate estate sale. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to purchase the collection, the delicate figures had already been jostled around and excessively handled. As a result this very large piece, “Rise & Shine” #3116 (6 1/2″ tall x 8 1/4″ long) does have a few flaws to take note of. One of the mama elephants tusk was broken off (photo #13). The tusk (photo #14) will be sent with the lot & the break looks to have been clean, so the repair shouldn’t be difficult. There are also a couple spots of flaking to the item’s paint. One is on the baby elephant’s trunk, below mama’s tusk (photo #2) and one is on the upper part of mama’s leg (photo #7). This is still a terrific piece & somewhat rare. Lot includes the elephants’ name stone & collectible booklet (photo #3).
